In Elden Ring, there are a lot of NPCs that you interact with and do side quests for which they will give you different rewards. This game has some side quests that are not very simple and you have to do certain things in order to complete the quests. So, in this guide, we’ll be telling you about how would you get the Tonic of Forgetfulness and what to do with it.

Getting Tonic of Forgetfulness

You’ll get the Tonic of Forgetfulness from the Tanith at the Volcano Manor in the Mount Gelmir region. In order to get the tonic, you have to talk to Rya the orphan daughter of Tanith at specific times.

At first, you want to talk to Tanith and agree to join them.

After going through the dialogues, she’ll give you the Drawing Room key which opens some doors down the hall. Open the Banquet Room which will be the second door on the left down the hall. Talk to Rya for some dialogues and pick up the first assassination task of Volcano Manor.

Complete this task and return to the Tanith to claim the reward of Magma Shot sorcery. Now the Rya will move to a new location inside the Volcano Manor. She’ll be in the second room down the hall on the right. Open the door and she will be in her true form of Zoraya Serpent. Speak to her through the dialogues for further progress.

After this go to the Banquet Room and pick the second task for Volcano Manor from the table. Complete the task and come back to Tanith and she’ll give you the Serpentbone Blade as a reward. Go to the site and rest then go talk to Rya in the room where she was at the last time. Talk to her and she’ll tell you about the hidden walls inside the Volcano Manor.

Go to the hallway and then to the first door on the right, go inside and there will be an illusionary wall that you have to go through. Follow the path and you’ll reach Prison Town Church Site of Grace. Now you have to make your way to the Temple of Eiglay. Go there and fight the Godskin Noble boss, after defeating him, you’ll get Godskin Stitcher and Noble Presence Incantation. Rest at the site and then pick up the Serpent’s Amnion at the back of the temple.

Return to Rya and show her the Serpent’s Amnion and go through her all dialogues. After resting at the site Rya will move on to her next location. You can talk to Tanith about the disappearance of Rya and go through the all dialogues, talk to her a second time and she will give you the Tonic of Forgetfulness.

You won’t get this Tonic if you have completed the third request of Volcano Manor.

What to do with Tonic of Forgetfulness

Tanith will certainly ask you to give the tonic of Forgetfulness to Rya. By giving the Tonic to Rya, it will also complete her questline as well. The Rya next location is near the Temple of Eiglay Site of Grace shown in the image below.

When you find her, talk to her and she will ask that you put her out of her misery which is the one way to end her quest but a bad one to do so. There will also be an option to give her the Tonic of Forgetfulness that she doesn’t know about. The third option will neither attack Rya nor give the Tonic, you have to make a choice here but the Tonic of Forgetfulness will be used on her to end her questline.

If you didn’t give the Tonic to Rya, you can also give this Tonic to Brother Corhyn at the Mountaintops of the Giants.

But he wouldn’t take it and then the Tonic of Forgetfulness will stay in your inventory.
