Epic Games Donating All Fortnite Proceeds to Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief for Next Two Weeks

Fortnite developer Epic Games has announced all of the proceeds generated by the Battle Royale game for the next two weeks will be donated to various charities supporting Ukrainian humanitarian relief. This covers “V-Buck packs, Fortnite Crew, gifted Battle Passes, and cosmetic packs such as the Voidlander Pack sold for real money”. The team promises 100 per cent of its proceeds from today until 3rd April 2022 will be donated, excluding “taxes, third-party platform fees, refunds, returns, or reversals”.
Epic Games will donate the proceeds to Direct Relief, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP), and UNHCR — The UN Refugee Agency. “They are on the ground providing emergency aid, including health support, food and clean water, essential supplies, legal aid, and shelter. More organizations will be added to this list in the coming weeks.” It is not possible to waiver the funds from your purchase being sent to the aforementioned charities.
What makes the pledge even more significant is that Fortnite Season 2 begins today, meaning lots of players will be buying V-Bucks to pick up the new Battle Pass and cosmetics. Therefore, this could add up to be an incredibly large donation. To learn more, click the link.
