Elden Ring: How to Dodge Waterfowl Dance
In Elden Ring, you fight many bosses in the game, main bosses of the game as well as the side bosses of the game have a different set of moves in combat which you have to block or dodge in order to not take damage or maybe not get killed. In this guide, we tell you how to dodge the Waterfowl Dance attack by one of the toughest bosses in the game Malenia, Blade of Miquella.
Waterfowl Dance Attack
The Waterfowl Dance attack by Malenia can kill you if she caught you in the flurry of this attack. There are a total of three flurry slash attacks in this 1 attack and if she caught you in one of the flurry slashes, her sword will hit you multiples times and it will kill you. This is one of the most annoying attacks in the game from the boss as it requires a lot of practice to dodge it.
How to Dodge Waterfowl Dance Attack
In the fight with Malenia, you have to focus on her moves closely to guess what move she will do next. For the Waterfowl Dance Attack, the first thing she will do is she will go up in the air and stay there like 2.5 seconds, and then she will do rapid flurry slash attacks which is the Waterfowl Dance attack.
One of the most important tactics in dodging this attack is to focus on her moves because for the first flurry of slashes, you want to get away from her in order to dodge. As soon as you see her going up in the air, just run backward because she’ll be going to come towards you aggressively doing the flurry slashes and you don’t want to get caught any one of the slashes.
You do need stamina in order to dodge so, make sure you have enough stamina before dodging it.
For the second flurry slash, you want to dodge it by rolling into it. The second flurry slash will catch you if you are running away from it because Malenia will get very close to you after the first flurry slashes. As soon as she stops, you just want to roll into her because she is going to flurry slash again and you can’t dodge it by running away.

After the second flurry slash attack, she will do the last flurry slash attack and you actually don’t have to roll it away as you’d be in a safe range but for extra safety, you can roll backward. Before doing the last flurry attack, she will go in the air but for a very short time, and then do the attack, she will launch herself a bit away from you as you rolled into her in the second flurry slash attack of her. As you see her stop doing the second flurry slash attack and go in the air, just do a backward roll and you will dodge the last flurry slashes in the Waterfowl Dance attack.
All these dodges require some practice so this can take some time dodging it without taking any damage.
