Best method for farming Anima Shards

Beast Clergyman Gurranq gives useful rewards in exchange for Deathroots. There is a total of 9 Deathroots in Elden Ring that you can find and give to Beast Clergyman in order to get rewards from him.

First, you will have to find Beast Clergyman Gurranq, there are two ways to get to the Beast Clergyman Gurranq.

Method 1

You can go to the Bestial Sanctum near the Greyoll’s Dragonbow in the Caelid region of Elden Ring. The location for Bestial Sanctum is given on the map. You can go to Bestial Sanctum and talk to him and give him the Deathroot for rewards.

Method 2

First, you need a Deathroot and you need to go to the Divine Bridge, you will find an NPC D there to the east of the Divine Bridge. The divine bridge is in Leyndell’s, Royal Capital. You have to talk to him and tell him about the Deathroot later on when he’s available at the Roundtable hold. When you’ve talked with him a portal will be shown on the map you can use that portal that will directly take you to the Bestial Sanctum where you can meet Beast Clergyman Gurranq.

In this guide, you’ll find all the locations of the Deathroots and how to get them. So, you can give them to the Beast Clergyman Gurranq and claim your rewards from him.

Deathroot no.1

For the first Deathroot, you have to go to the Summonwater Village Outskirts, there is also a site of grace you can use there for later and fast travel. Summonwater Village Outskirts in the north of the Limgrave region on the Road that is going to the Caelid Region.

Once, you’ve entered the Village you’ll face the boss, Tibia Mariner. You have to defeat him he’s the boss that is on a boat. Once, you’ve defeated the Tibia Mariner you will receive the Deathroot.

Deathroot no.2

For the next Deathroot, you need to go to the Deathtouched Catacombs in Limgrave Region. The catacombs are up north in the Limgrave Region near a Bridge.

You need to go inside the catacombs and go down all the way down to get the elevator and go to the teleport to the Boss of the Catacombs. You will have to defeat Black Knife Assassin, when you’ve defeated him there is a chest in the hall where you fought him. You have to open the chest and you’ll receive another Deathroot.

Deathroot no.3

Next, you have to go to the Black Knife Catacombs in the Liurnia of the Lakes region. Black Knife Catacombs are to the North East in Liurnia Near the Erdtree.

You have to go inside the Black Knife Catacombs and descend all the way down and get the elevator and take the teleport to the Boss there. You will fight Cementry Shade. You have to defeat Cementry Shade first and in the fight, you will also have to fight the skeleton enemies. There is a chest like before at the end of the hall, you need to go and open the chest. You’ll receive the Deathroot from the chest.

Deathroot no.4

You have to go to Artist’s Shack in the Liurnia of the Lakes. Artist’s Shack is to Northeast in Liurnia. You have to go a few steps south to the Boss battle icon as shown on the map.

You have to again defeat Tibia Mariner there. After you’ve defeated Tibia Mariner, you’ll receive the Deathroot from him.

Deathroot no.5

You have to go to Seathewater River in the Altus Plateau. Seathewater River is down North West in the Altus Plateau. The location is shown on the map for the river.

You just have to go a few steps south from the Seathewater River and you’ll again face the Tibia Mariner. You have to again defeat the Tibia Mariner and you’ll get the Deathroot as a reward from him.

Deathroot no.6

Next Deathroot is in the First Mr. Gelmir Campsite which is in the Altus Plateau region of the Elden Ring. The location for the Mr. Gelmir Campsite which is to the North of the Altus Plateau is shown on the map.

Once, you’ve reached Mr. Gelmir Campsite, there is an elevator that will take you to the Catacombs you have to go down the elevator. You have to go all the way down in the catacombs until you reach the Catacombs boss. You will fight Red Wolf of the Champion

You have to defeat Red Wolf of the Champion first and go to the chest. You need to open the chest in the hall where you defeated the boss and you’ll receive the next Deathroot.

Deathroot no.7

For the next Deathroot, you need to go to the Giants Mountaintop Catacombs which is in the Mountaintops of Giants region of the Elden Ring. Giants Mountaintop Catacombs is down south in the region at the given location on the map.

You have to make your way all the way down and get the elevator to the teleport that will take you to the boss of the catacombs. You will fight Ulcerated Tree Spirit in the Catacombs, which is a comparatively hard boss to battle.

Once, you’ve defeated the Ulcerated Tree Spirit, you will find a chest at the hall. You have to open the chest and you’ll receive the Deathroot.

Deathroot no.8

You have to go to the Snow Valley Ruins Overlook in the Mountaintops of the Giants region. Snow Valley Ruins Overlook is up North East in the Mountaintops of Giants region at the given location on the map.

Once, you’ve reached the Snow Valley Ruins Overlook you’ve to go to few steps west to fight the boss Tibia Mariner again. You’ve to defeat Tibia Mariner and you’ll receive the Deathroot from him.

Deathroot no.9

For the last Deathroot, you’ve to go to the Grand Lift of Rold in Mountaintops of the Giants region. It is up North West in the Mountaintops of Giants at the given location on the map.

Once, you’ve reached the Grand Lif of Rold you’ve to use the lift and you’ll reach the Hidden Path to the Haligtree. You’ve to go through the catacombs there is an invisible bridge you’ve to cross the bridge and use the elevator and go up it will take you the teleport. You need to use the teleport which will take you to the boss hall. You will face Stray Mimic Tear. The boss will mimic you. So, you have to dodge the attacks that you did and keep track of the attacks you’re doing. Once, you’ve defeated the boss there is a chest in the hall. You need to open the chest and you’ll receive the last Deathroot.
